TagAlong lets households tell friends where they're heading. Here's what it keeps and who sees it.
What TagAlong keeps
- Your account: your email address, your display name and your passkeys.
- Your household: its name, its time zone and each person's name. For a child, the year they were born.
- Your contacts: the names you give them and your notes on them.
- Activities: the place, the time, your note, and the replies, messages and live updates on it.
Who sees what
- A household you invite sees your household's name, the place, the time, your note, your messages and your live updates.
- They see how many other households are tagging along or already there, never which ones.
- You see the replies and live updates of the households you invited.
- Your notes on contacts are only for you.
How long it's kept
- Activities are kept, with their replies, messages and live updates, so you can look back at them. Deleting your household removes them.
- The record of each notification sent is deleted after 30 days.
Other services
- Emails go out through SMTP2GO.
- Notifications on your phone or computer go through your browser's push service, run by Apple, Google or Mozilla.
- If you add a Discord webhook, your notifications are posted to that Discord channel.
- Place searches go from TagAlong's server to Photon, run by komoot. Photon sees what you typed, not who you are.
- Your device loads map images straight from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address.
- No ads, no analytics, and nothing is sold.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings. That removes your email address and passkeys. If another adult in your household has an account, the household stays so they can keep using it. If not, the household goes too, with its people, contacts and activities, and it drops off your friends' contacts.
